Do you know what is the better used as a carry bag for something that we bought from a supermarket? Do you still used plastic bag or paper bags? Do you know how much harmful the plastic is and how pollute the environment are when people using paper bag?
Two or three years back then, we always talked about paper bag is the best user than a plastic bag. Now, people realize that both have their own disadvantages as paper bag will make the trees being cut legally or illegally. According to the American Forest and Paper Association, in 1999 the U.S. alone used 10 billion paper grocery bags, which adds up to a lot of trees.
Nowadays people know that plastic bags is more dangerous than paper bags. Plastic bags cannot be degradable in ground. There are cases which aquatic organisms had died as they ate plastic for their mistake thinking that it is their food. Plastic is the substance where it takes about million or thousand years to be composed in the ground.
As the article has been read, i know that the best way to solve this problem is by using reusable bags. We can see lots of reusable bags sold outside there. I can remember shops that started to sell reusable bags like The Body Shop, Cotton On, F.O.S, Topshop and etc. It is a high-quality reusable shopping bags made of materials that do not harm the environment during their production and do not need to be discarded after each use.
Malaysia has taken a step to reduce the usage of plastic bags in the market by imposed RM0.20 for each plastic bag they wanted to use. This has been proved by the experimental that have been conduct in Ireland. It shows that Irish government has reduced consumption by 90 percent when they started introduced this method.
As a conclusion, government, companies and everyone has to make their own precaution steps by decrease the usage of plastic or paper bags. Everyone should also think how to make plastic bags one of the biodegradable stuffs so that it can be used in a day life.
